Ernest and Frances Benting of Danville are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-4 p.m. today, Aug. 26, 2012, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 901 W. Fairchild St. The event is hosted by their children, Keith (Karen) Benting of Macon and Cathy (Eric) Childers of Danville.

Ernest Benting and the former Frances Pichon were married Aug. 30, 1952, at Western Avenue Baptist Church in Danville.

Ernest retired from General Motors in 1993. Frances has been a homemaker for the past few years.

They have three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The couple requests no gifts.
