Mr. and Mrs. Bill White of Alvin celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Bill White and Evelyn Reese eloped and were married Jan. 1, 1948, in Terre Haute, Ind. Bill is retired from farming and Evelyn is a housewife.
The couple has five children, Rick (Donna) White of Rossville, Teresa (Bob) Dines of Alvin, Lawrence (Mary) White of Alvin, Russell (Amanda) White of Rossville and Billie Anne (Mike) Kinnett of Fla. They also have 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
