DANVILLE —

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Abernathy of Veedersburg, Ind. celebrated their 50^th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the Friendship Circle Center in Covington, Indiana. The event was hosted by their children and sisters, Donna Limp and Shirley Curry.

Sam Abernathy and Nancy Dunivan were married December 7, 1961, at Santee Methodist Church in Santee, California. Charles D. Clark officiated.

Sam served in the United States Navy for 20 years, then worked as a semi-truck driver and instructor. Nancy worked as a seamstress in several local sewing factories.

The couple has three children, Lynn (Cliff) Saunders of Upland, California, Scott (Cheryl) Abernathy of Cayuga, Indiana, and Lee (Christy) Abernathy of Danville.

They also have 5 grandchildren, Hilary (Steve) Roberts of Hoover, Alabama, Ryan Moody of Rolla, Missouri, Trenton and Leah Abernathy of Cayuga, Indiana, and Gilliam Saunders of Upland, California.
