DANVILLE —
This year, DHS has many new teachers. Mr. Smith is a new Global Social Studies teacher, but he’s not new to DHS.
“I was fortunate to work with Mr. Bretz and Ms. Carter last year when I was doing classroom observations as a University of Illinois student. I enjoyed this time and was impressed by the students and faculty.”
Another thing Mr. Smith likes about the school is the professional development opportunities.
“I plan on taking advantage of many of these opportunities, especially those involving technology use in instructional activities.”
In Global House, the teachers implement the use of Clickers. Mr. Smith has easily taken on this tactic and is quickly implementing more technology use; most recently he Skyped in a guest speaker from South America for his geography class.
