HOOPESTON —
The Hoopeston Public Library will soon move to a new online card catalog and circulation system, Polaris.
There will be many benefits to patrons with the new system. However, during transition time, there are things patrons need to know:
Any requests patrons have placed but not received will be lost on Friday. The library recommends patrons wait to place new requests until after April 11. The new online card catalog and circulation system will be fully operation at the library at that time.
Patrons should print out a list of their current requests for their records. Those who do not have the ability to print out their request list should call the circulation desk for help before Friday.
As of March 30, the library will no longer have a “live” system. No new cards will be issued between April 1 and April 11. Patrons will need to bring their library card with them to the library to check out.
