Hoopeston Police Chief Mark Drollinger warns residents about a telephone scam reported by citizens.
Solicitors claim to be raising money for local police departments to purchase teddy bears to be given to grieving children. Some calls are coming from, a Chicago-based number.
The Hoopeston Police Department has no affiliation with the organization, Drollinger said.
