Sara Elizabeth Groh and Nathan Michael Thomas were married Aug. 24, 2007, at Libertyville. The evening ceremony took place in the native garden at Independence Grove. Immediately following, the reception was held in Audubon Hall up the path from the garden. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were followed with dinner and dancing.
Matron of honor was Laura Davis of Lake Villa, friend of the bride, and bridesmaids were Michelle Levas of Phoenix and Jessica Ortiz of Antioch, both friends of the bride, and Amanda Thomas of New Palestine, sister-in-law of the groom.
Best man was Jason Thomas of New Palestine, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Chris Groh of Trevor, Wis., brother of the bride; Timothy Spain of Boca Raton, Fla., friend of the groom; and Andy Tsigolis of Chicago, friend of the groom. The junior groomsman was Patrick Ganley of Danville, son of the groom.
Flower girl was Mia Thomas and the ring bearer was Gavin Thomas, niece and nephew of the groom. Ushers were Eric Williams, cousin of the bride, and Adam Cole, friend of the couple.
The bride’s parents are Gary and Julianne Groh of Antioch, and parents of the groom are Vernie and Mollee Thomas of Danville.
Sara is a graduate of Antioch High School and Illinois State University, and is now an ELL teacher/coordinator for the Zion School District. Nathan is a graduate of Schlarman High School and Columbia College, and is now the graphic designer for EAR Technology in Palentine.
The couple honeymooned in San Francisco and Napa Valley, where they concluded their trip with a hot air balloon ride over the vineyards.
