Editor:
I went to the doctor the other day. I had been having dizzy spells. I can deal with the normal aches and pains of getting older, but feeling like I could drop to the floor was freaky.
I thought, “This is it. A stroke or heart attack?”
As it turned out, it was “only” the permanent damage to the inner ear.
The doctor asked if I was a mechanic, worked construction or anything else around loud noises. I realized it could only be one thing; loud music. Many years of heavy metal and other rock smashing in my brain — hey baby, the louder the better.
That probably will end my Harley riding someday. Or worse.
To think — it was willfully inflicted. So, dudes and chicks, do yourselves a favor. Wear the ear plugs when you should. And TURN THE MUSIC DOWN.
