Editor:
Only in Danville could a $1.9 million tax increase be proposed to cover an originally reported $1.5 million deficit.
There are only about 30,000 of us. Please quit helping us, we can’t afford it! They ignored the city financial group the mayor appointed. What chance do you or I have if we register objections? Save your time and effort.
I am afraid businesses and citizens are viewed simply as revenue sources. Next year, the budget is due about 60 days or so before the city primary election. Count on bold proclamations about how “We are holding the line on taxes!”
Mark your calendar for that announcement. I have.
