Don’t sign global climate treaty

Editor:

Without freedom, there is no security.

The 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference will begin Dec. 7 in Copenhagen. This day of infamy will offer the U.S. and other countries the opportunity to sign a global climate treaty giving autonomous, unaccountable powers to an undefined global inspection and enforcement entity.

The policy and regulations they promulgate will dictate the future conduct of the modern world, if they are allowed to achieve this goal.

This is not only against our Constitution, but if passed would allow the Cap and Trade Bill to pass. The Cap and Trade would fine any business that emitted certain levels of greenhouse gases. A coal-fired power plant would be fined so heavily that our electric rates would double almost immediately.

This can be stopped if we flood the White House and Congress with phone calls, e-mails and other messages. Remember, our president has surrounded himself with dedicated communist advisers whose goal is to transfer our nation from a constitutional republic to a communist state. Without freedom, there will be no constitutional rights.

Please act before it is too late.
