The Danville High School Choral Music Boosters send hearts “to the volunteers and businesses that made the 14th Annual Midwest Classic Show Choir Invitational on Feb. 5-6 a success.
“The weather wasn’t on our side that weekend, and a couple schools canceled, but the show went on in spite of Mother Nature.
“More than 180 individuals and businesses sponsored ads; 43 individuals and businesses sponsored trophies and awards; more than 200 volunteers manned admissions, auditorium and balcony doors, bus unloading, cash registers, clean up, competition headquarters, concessions, dishwashers, first aid, food prep, fundraising, hospitality, kitchen, lighting, parking, publicity, runners to pick up food, score tabulations, security, servers, shuttle drivers, stage crew, treasury duties, video set-up, volunteer check-in, warm-up rooms and much more.
“A special thank you goes to the following for donations during the Classic weekend: Barbeck Communications, Bud’s Cellular, County Market, McDonald’s, Polyclinic Medical Equipment and Royal Donut.
“Additional thank-yous go to Martha Lindvahl as the director of choral music at DHS and the Midwest Classic event director; Andrew Seibert, event manager; Jill Prasse, choral accompanist; Scott Turner, assistant choreographer; Mayor Scott Eisenhauer, master of ceremonies; DHS Contemporaires, hosts; DHS Delegation, hosts; North Ridge Middle School Radiant Reds, hosts; North Ridge Redcoats, hosts; South View Middle School Encore, hosts; combo and stage crew; City of Danville; and the Danville Auxiliary

“After performing at several schools throughout the show choir season, we realize how fortunate we are to have access to a beautiful, historic auditorium and the support of the DHS staff, District 118 administration and District 118 Board of Education. We look forward to working with you all again on Feb. 4-5, 2011.”
Linda Spicer of Georgetown sends hearts to the workers for Pabst Sanitation Co., who pick up her trash.
“They will try to help you as much as they can. They are careful, friendly and understand if you have a problem.
“They are always on time. You can really depend on them.
“Also hearts to my mail carrier, Pat Taylor. She is really nice, friendly and delivers the mail early. She always puts it neatly in my mail box.
“She is concerned about the people on her route and how soon we need our mail. She will make extra trips to be sure we get our mail on time.
“We need people like her who treat others with respect. Everybody on our block really likes her.”
