MALIBU, Calif. — Editor:

Wow!

I just got the Sunday (Jan. 27) papers from Nancy Blue. Getting the (Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement) award was a great thrill, but when I saw myself on the cover of my hometown newspaper it went straight to my heart!

Who woulda thought that skinny kid with acne and a big nose would end up on the front page?

It took me back to Danville High, Harrison Park, Lake Vermilion and doing radio from the basement of the Wolford Hotel. Anybody remember?

I love putting Danville on the map every chance I get. As kids we believed that Danville was the center of the U.S.A. I still think it is!

Thank you everyone for one of the best treats of my life. (Hi, Hack!)
