Danville Public Library will host “Dollar-a-Day Boys,” a musical tribute to the Civilian Conservation Corps presented by Bill Jamerson, author, songwriter and filmmaker, beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the first floor meeting room.
The program is a nostalgic look at the 1930s Federal Works Program that gave employment to 3.5 million men. Hilarious stories, foot-tapping songs and a short video makes this a “must see” experience.
People whose family members participated in the CCC program are encouraged to bring their memorabilia and share in the discussion.
A display highlighting the CCC efforts in Vermilion County, provided by the Vermilion County Museum, will be on view on the second floor of the library the month of March.
