DANVILLE —
The city council’s public services committee will consider this week approving several budget amendments.
They include amendments in general city government for an Ameren rebate and Ameren Gas, in the legal services division for a new filing fee of $116 on municipal cases in Vermilion County Circuit Court (budgeting $10,000) and the cost of negotiation of union contracts and pending cases exceeding the amount obligated to legal services. The amount is being increased by $30,000.
Other budget amendments are in: the city clerk division for liquor ordinance violation revenues, personnel and human relations division for fire promotional exams, and parks and public property division to reflect a tennis club grant.
The Danville Tennis Club received a $19,103 state grant for energy efficient lighting.
The committee also will consider authorizing an agreement for voluntary dental insurance. The city will solely provide the means for individual employees to obtain coverage on an individual voluntary basis. The employee or retiree will be 100 percent responsible for the monthly premium. The one-year trial contract is with The Guardian Dental Insurance, for Oct. 1, 2010 through Sept. 30, 2011.
The committee also will hear other department reports.
