DANVILLE — Firefighters in the Lynch Fire Protection District have received grant money from the federal government.
The district was announced on Monday as one of four frural fire departments in east central Illinois that would received thousands of dollars in grant awards throught U.S. Department of Homeland Security program assisting firefighters.
The funds, falling just short of $29,500, will go toward operations and safety equipment for the fire protection district, which covers the area south and southwest of Danville.
