DANVILLE — One person was injured in a three-vehicle accident Tuesday morning.
Illinois State Police responded to the crash at 9:13 a.m. Tuesday in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 74 at the 211 mile marker.
According to reports, Archna Bhatia, 31, of Urbana was headed east when she lost control of her car in the icy road conditions. The vehicle did a 180-degree turn and collided head-on with the vehicle traveling behind it driven by Matthew Friel, 31, of Mahomet.
The third vehicle, a semi tractor trailer, tried to pass between the two vehicles, colliding with the rear of Friel’s vehicle in the process. The semi then left the scene.
Bhatia was taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center where she was treated and released. She was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
Both Bhatia’s and Friel’s vehicles were towed from the scene.
