DANVILLE —
Live Stand Up Comedy makes its return May 6 to Danville at Sarge’s Tap, 409 E. Main St. This is the second of its series of stand-up shows, which begins at 8 p.m.
The headliner for the show is Chicago’s Jeremy Danley, also known to his fans as “The Mighty Jer-Dog.” Known for his erratic, improvisational style, he also is known for performing shows across the country, according to a press release. He was the focus of a documentary, entitled “Road Dogs,” which was about his troubles and travails on the road. He has been performing stand up for more than 15 years.
The feature act this time around is Kris Shaw, a comedy veteran from Indianapolis, Ind. He has been seen as a regular on the CBS series, “Close to Home” and in nationally broadcast commercials. He has toured the world doing shows for the military, most recently last June when he performed for the troops in Iraq and Kuwait.
“Our last show was very well received,” said Tim Hoyt, operations manager for Inside Joke Productions, the company bringing stand-up to Sarge’s Tap, in a press release. “The show was sold out, and we had to turn people away at the door. Everyone had a great time, proving that Danville is a great comedy town. We hope for a similar turnout this time around.”
The show may have some adult themes.
“Both guys are true professionals in the business,” said Tara Koble, account executive for Inside Joke Productions, in a press release. “They know how to take things to the limit, without ever crossing the line.”
Since seating is limited, purchasing tickets in advance is recommended. Tickets are available at Sarge’s Tap.
Tickets will be available in advance for $5 and at the door for only $7. For reservations, call the club, 431-4049.
