DANVILLE — Here’s a look at recent law enforcement calls:

Danville

Wednesday:

Burglary in the first block of South Virginia Avenue.

Burglary in the 600 block of North Kimball Street.

Disorderly conduct in the 600 block of Cunningham Street.

Trespassing in the 300 block of Bradley Lane.

A man arrested for domestic battery in the first block of South Bismark Street.

Retail theft at Walgreens, 400 W. Fairchild St.

Theft in the 1300 block of West Williams Street.

Burglary in the 400 block of Oak Street.

Thursday:

A man arrested for battery in the 1100 block of Glenwood Drive.

A man arrested for disorderly conduct at Martin and Myers streets.

Vermilion County

Wednesday:

Impersonation of an officer and attempted fraud reported along County Road 1735E.

Thursday:

A woman arrested for retail theft at County Market, Tilton.

Accidents involving tickets or injuries include:

Thursday, 7:49 a.m. At North Vermilion and Lake Shore Drive involving Mary Day, 67, of rural Danville, and Tammy Johnson, 38, of Danville. Day was cited for improper lane usage.

Firefighters responded to the following calls:

Thursday, 7:38-7:53 a.m. A smoke odor reported at 1121 N. Bowman Ave.

Thursday, 9:26-9:46 a.m. An alarm malfunction at 707 Grant St.

Thursday, 1:30-1:47 p.m.A medical call in the 3500 block of North Vermilion Street.

Thursday, 1:33-1:39 p.m. An unknown burning reported at 1209 James Place.

Thursday, 2:18-2:38 p.m. A medical call in the 2400 block of North Vermilion Street.

Thursday, 2:54-3:05 p.m. A carbon monoxide check at 1640 Oak St.

Thursday, 3:49-4:04 p.m. A medical call in the 3500 block of North Vermilion Street.

Friday, 12:23-12:25 a.m. A medical call in the 1300 block of Logan Avenue.

Friday, 12:53-1 a.m. A medical call in the 900 block of Hillside Drive.

  • Colson Racing in the Blood

    Ron Colson attended his first Indianapolis 500 when he was 7 years old. That was 66 years ago. He’s missed only one of the Memorial Day weekend classics since then, and that was in 1950 when he had the mumps. He grudgingly handed his prized ticket over to his uncle that year. Luckily for the 10-year-old, it was one of the few early years when the race was televised, and the family friends who owned Crane’s TV Shop in Hillsboro, Ind., invited him to come watch it with them.
