GEORGETOWN — Sheriff’s department investigators are looking into the death of a central Illinois man reported missing during the weekend.
The body of Jimmy Summers, 33, of Lincoln was discovered Monday evening in a soybean field along Georgetown-Indianola Road just west of Georgetown.
Summers had last been seen leaving an alumni football game on his motorcycle Friday night at Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School.
Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Todd Damilano said Summers was found a few rows into a soybean field near a set of curves in the road. Damilano said it appeared Summers had left the roadway to the north.
Results of an autopsy conducted on Tuesday indicated Summers died of massive chest injuries as a result of the motorcycle accident, according to Vermilion County Coroner Peggy Johnson.
Damilano said the death is not considered suspicious and investigators are looking into possible factors for the fatal accident.
