Aunt Martha’s kicks off Health Center Week

DANVILLE — Aunt Martha’s Healthcare Network kicks off National Health Center Week with two community events in Danville.

National Health Center week encompasses health centers across the country to reach out to our communities for health-related needs.

Aunt Martha’s Vermilion Area Community Health Center will conduct an open community event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at 614 Gilbert St.

The day will include: behavioral health screens; adult health screenings including glucose, blood pressure and body mass index; education on anxiety, depression, hypertension, diabetes and oral health; and healthy refreshments will be served.

On Thursday, an additional community event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Health Center. The day will include adult health screenings including blood pressure, glucose and body mass index; enrollments for All Kids Program, IHC and Prescription Assistance; education on diabetes, asthma and child obesity; and healthy refreshments will be served.

Aunt Martha’s Youth Service Center and Healthcare Network is a private, not-for-profit, regionally-based agency providing complete health and social services for family members of all ages in underserved areas across Illinois.
