Police, Fire Reports

DANVILLE — Here’s a look at recent law enforcement calls:

Danville

Saturday:

A lawnmower was reported stolen in the 600 block of Commercial Street.

Monday:

Retail theft at Menard’s, 36 E. West Newell Road.

Report of assault and shots fired in the 1100 block of Harmon Avenue.

A man was arrested for domestic battery in the 800 block of Texas Avenue.

A burglary to a residence was reported in the 1200 block of Clarence Street.

A man was arrested for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct at County Market, 2 E. Main St.

A woman was arrested for residential burglary in the first block of South Virginia.

Vermilion County

Monday:

A woman was arrested for domestic battery and resisting arrest in the 400 block of Smith Street, Belgium.

Tuesday:

A criminal sexual assault was reported at Halfway Inn, 1401 Warrington Ave..

Accidents involving tickets or injuries include:

Monday, 5:42 a.m. – At Winter Avenue and Gilbert Street involving Carl Carton, 42, of the 400 block of Grant Street, and Sean Walter, 23, of Danville. Carton was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without proof of insurance.

Monday, 8:38 p.m. – At North and Hazel streets involving Anthony Williams, 29, of the 700 block of Wayne Street, and Eric Turner, 27, of Danville. Williams was cited for failure to yield. A passenger, Melvin Turner, 42, of Danville, was injured and taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center.

Firefighters responded to the following calls:

Monday, 9:20-9:30 a.m. — Burned food on a stove caused a fire call in the 600 block of Sheridan Street.

Monday, 12:53-1:09 p.m. — A medical call in the 1000 block of North Walnut Street.

Monday, 1:53-1:57 p.m. — A medical call in the 1400 block of Eastview Avenue.

Monday, 2:23-2:33 p.m. — A medical call in the 200 block of East Fairchild Street.

Monday, 5:50-6:05 p.m. — Burned food on a stove caused a fire call to the first block of North State Street.

Monday, 6:07-6:34 p.m. — A medical call in the first block of Illinois Street.

Monday, 8:39-8:50 p.m. — An accident with injuries reported at North and Hazel streets.

Monday, 9:35-9:50 p.m. — A medical call in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive.
