Food helps pay off fines

HOOPESTON — The Hoopeston Public Library will give patrons the opportunity to pay off library fines during the annual Food for Fines drive starting Saturday.

Throughout December, the library will accept canned goods and non-perishable food items within their expiration dates as well as packaged household paper products in payment of library fines. Each item or package donated will be worth $1 toward library fines. Some items might not qualify.

Donations are good for overdue material fines only and cannot go toward the cost of lost items or other fees.

All items received will be donated to the Grant Township Food Cupboard. To learn more, call the library at 283-6711
