DANVILLE —
The Danville Housing Authority’s Summer Health and Safefy Fair will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Fair Oaks Housing Complex. The event runs until 2 p.m.
Lakeview College of Nursing and the Danville Housing Authority are sponsoring the event.
Activities planned for the event include a variety of health, safety and community information booths for public housing residents. Activities will be set up at the Fair Oaks Pavilion and the nearby the basketball courts.
The Olive Branch Lodge will provide a child identification program, C.H.I.P.S., which includes fingerprints, DNA swabs, photos and a video that parents will receive.
Danville School District 118 will have pre-kindergarten sign-ups available.
The Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department and the Danville Fire Department will provide safety information.
Tae Kwon Do demonstrations will be provided by KDI. There also will be be blood pressure and mental health screenings as well as a DJ, food and raffles.
