DANVILLE —
Faith in Action is recruiting volunteers. Orientations will take place for those interested in volunteering on the following dates:
9:30 -11 a.m. March 19;
1:30-3 p.m. March 21;
1:30-3 p.m. March 25.
Sessions will be at First Presbyterian Church, 100 N. Franklin St. Those who plan to attend one of the sessions should call the office at 431-8489.
Faith in Action is a ministry that assists seniors age 60 and older in the Danville area. The ministry provides transportation and home repairs, builds wheelchair ramps on homes and can help with emergency assistance.
Faith in Action is an outreach program of the Provena United Samaritans Medical Center Foundation.

Georgetown council to sell water to coal mine
What the village of Homer was unwilling to do, the city of Georgetown has agreed to do. Specifically, city council members approved a contract Monday with Sunrise Coal LLC of Terre Haute to provide, initially, 300,000 gallons of production water a day. After the mine is up and running, the city could boost that supply to 500,000 gallons of water a day.
