CATLIN —
The Catlin Historical Society will have its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Community Building.
The meeting is open to all individuals, not just society members. The program will consist of remembering the old Catlin School, which was located on the site where the village park now occupies. Museum representatives are trying to gather stories and facts about what it was like to attend the old school. The audience will be asked to share memories of these school experiences.
Election of new board members will also take place. Society members should attend and let board members know how they feel about the organization.

Arts in the Park marks 25th year

Georgetown council to sell water to coal mine
What the village of Homer was unwilling to do, the city of Georgetown has agreed to do. Specifically, city council members approved a contract Monday with Sunrise Coal LLC of Terre Haute to provide, initially, 300,000 gallons of production water a day. After the mine is up and running, the city could boost that supply to 500,000 gallons of water a day.
