DANVILLE —
Residents still have a few hours left today to sign up to win Downtown Danville, Inc.’s Valentine’s Day package. Even if you don’t win, there still are lots of present ideas downtown for your significant other.
Persons can still sign up through noon today to win DDI’s Valentine’s Day package.
Visit these downtown locations to sign up for a chance to win: Blossom Hill Florist, DDI, Dis N Dat, D-Vegas Boutique, Glory Daze, kids kloset, Rothery Jewelers, Stage Presents and Tone & Tan Fitness Center.
The package includes $20 gift certificates to kids kloset, Blossom Hill Florist and Glory Daze; a can of alcohol-infused Whipped Lightning from Earl Gaudio & Sons Distributing; sodas from Stage Presents; Walldogs memorabilia; a framed picture of the Temple Plaza sculpture; wine from The Cooks’ Workshop; a charm bracelet from Rothery Jewelers; and a $20 off coupon on a monthly membership or multi-tanning package at Tan & Tone Fitness Center.
Registrants must be 21 years old to enter. DDI will notify the winner today so the prizes can be enjoyed for the weekend prior to Valentine’s Day.
DDI Executive Director Dana Schaumburg said the retail promotion with the downtown business donations has been successful and DDI is looking to have them more often, possibly quarterly.
“It’s just a nice, little fun thing,” Schaumburg said.
A variety of gift ideas can be found downtown, she added, including jewelry, photos of downtown scenes and buildings, candy, purses and other items.
Visitors can walk around and find unique, antique and homemade items, such as at the Fischer Theatre gift shop and also Blossom Hill Florist at North and Vermilion streets.
“We’re swamped,” said Blossom Hill Florist co-owner Dale Dombroskie.
Added co-owner Mark Bard, Valentine’s Day is the florist’s second busiest day. Mother’s Day comes in first.
Bard said Monday will be especially busy for the business, with last-minute orders.
