WILLIAMSPORT, Ind. — Doug Allison is the new principal of Warren Central Elementary School.
The Warren County School Board hired Allison this week from among 30 applicants to replace Jim Beyer, who was named district assistant superintendent last month.
The board interviewed two finalists.
Allison, a former teacher and coach at Seeger Memorial High School, has been assistant principal at South Newton High School for two years.
His salary was set at $68,000.
In other business, the board:
-- Increased breakfast and lunch prices. Student breakfasts will go to $1.25 from $1.10; student lunches, to $1.75 from $1.60; adult breakfasts, to $1.60 from $1.35; and adult lunches, to $2.60 from $2.35.
-- Set Seeger’s high school graduation for 11 a.m. EDT May 24 at the Williamsport Elementary School gymnasium.
-- Set eighth-grade promotions at 9 a.m. May 22 for Warren Central and Williamsport elementary schools and at 9:30 a.m. May 22 at Pine Village Elementary School.
-- Will seek bids for tax anticipation warrants to meet expenses the district receives in its tax draw.
-- Increased driver education fees to $175 from $150.
