DANVILLE — The first Danville Days Rib Festival will take place at Ellsworth Park this weekend.
The rib festival will benefit Danville District 118 extracurricular programs.
The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

-- DHS boys basketball dodge ball — 11:30 a.m., Saturday.

-- Booster’s Club 5K Run/Walk — at 8 a.m., Saturday; contact David Ammermann 442-6887.
Entertainment
-- SATURDAY
11 a.m.: Doc Ashton and the National Anthem.
1:30-3:30 p.m.: Goodfellas Band, Danville.
5-6:30 p.m. or earlier — Modern Day Savage Chicago.
7-8:30 p.m.: Marvin Fields and Axis: A tribute to Jimi Hendrix, from Houston, Texas.

3:40-4:10 p.m. — Todd Kester, Danville.
4:15-4:45 p.m. — David Howie, Champaign.
5-6:30 p.m. — Jenkins Brothers Band, Danville.

VIP Tent — both days: acoustical guitars during the breaks beginning between noon and 1 p.m.
Knightfire Percussion will perform periodically throughout the park both days.

-- Meade Park Cowboys’ Little League Football will provide ribs, rib tips, fish, pork butt and polish sausage.
-- Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority will provide lemonade and tea.
-- DHS Pompettes.
-- Northeast Elementary will provide snow cones.
-- DHS Fine Arts Club.
--- DHS girls tennis and DHS Channel One class will operate a duck pond.
-- East Park Social Committee will contribute a 50/50 raffle.
-- South View AVID will offer a corn hole toss.
-- Tamara Switzer, Lauren Whitingham (scrapbooking fund) will offer face painting.
-- Knightfire Percussion will provide hot dogs and brats.
-- District 118 secretaries will supply fruit.
-- DHS track teams will provide ribs, hot wings and corndogs.
-- DHS AVID will supply Dippin’ Dots.
-- DHS cheerleaders will supply lemon and orange shakeups.
-- North Ridge show choirs will supply lemon and orange Shakeups and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies.
-- DHS speech team providing soft drinks.
-- DHS football will provide Viking Cards.
-- Mustard’s Last Stand will provide Pizza Cards.
-- DHS girls basketball will supply cotton candy.
-- DHS boys basketball will provide Dippin’ Dots.
Admission for a one-day pass for adults, $5; children, ages 9 to 17, $3; a two-day pass for adults $8, children, ages 9 to 17, $5; and children 8 and younger are admitted free.
No coolers or food will be allowed in the park. Lawn chairs and blankets are recommended.
