DANVILLE — The first Danville Days Rib Festival will take place at Ellsworth Park this weekend.
The rib festival will benefit Danville District 118 extracurricular programs.
The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

11 a.m.: Doc Ashton and the National Anthem.
1:30-3:30 p.m.: Goodfellas Band, Danville.
5-6:30 p.m. or earlier — Modern Day Savage Chicago.
7-8:30 p.m.: Marvin Fields and Axis: A tribute to Jimi Hendrix, from Houston, Texas.

-- Tamara Switzer, Lauren Whitingham (scrapbooking fund) will offer face painting.
-- Knightfire Percussion will provide hot dogs and brats.
-- District 118 secretaries will supply fruit.
-- DHS track teams will provide ribs, hot wings and corndogs.
-- DHS AVID will supply Dippin’ Dots.
-- DHS cheerleaders will supply lemon and orange shakeups.
-- North Ridge show choirs will supply lemon and orange Shakeups and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies.
-- DHS speech team providing soft drinks.
-- DHS football will provide Viking Cards.
-- Mustard’s Last Stand will provide Pizza Cards.
-- DHS girls basketball will supply cotton candy.
-- DHS boys basketball will provide Dippin’ Dots.
Admission for a one-day pass for adults, $5; children, ages 9 to 17, $3; a two-day pass for adults $8, children, ages 9 to 17, $5; and children 8 and younger are admitted free.
No coolers or food will be allowed in the park. Lawn chairs and blankets are recommended.
