Police Roundup: Fatal crash victim identified

DANVILLE — Officials have confirmed the name of a man killed in a second fatal accident in the last three days.

Richard Shatto, 38, of Hoopeston was pronounced dead just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Carle Foundation Hospital, according to the Champaign Coroner’s Office.

Shatto was involved in a one-car accident at 12:11 a.m. Sunday on Illinois Route 9 west of Rankin in Vermilion County.

According to the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department, Shatto was driving a 1997 Chevy Lumina westbound when the vehicle left the roadway, striking a guard rail before overturning in a field.

Shatto was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the crash.

On Friday, Kevin Gay, 45, of Westville died after his motorcycle hit a curb in the 1800 block of South State Street in Westville, throwing him from the motorcycle.

Disorderly conduct in the 2500 block of Georgetown Road.

A woman arrested for criminal trespassing in the first block of Grand Circle Drive.

$100.00 stolen and window damaged at VIPS, 515 N. Vermilion St.

Vermilion County

Sunday:

Screen door and siding damaged in the 100 block of South Jefferson Street, Fithian.

Bullets stolen from a camper at Vine and Griffin streets.

Audio items stolen from a vehicle in the first block of Julianna Drive.

Deceptive practices reported in the 100 block of Brooks Street, Oakwood.

Domestic disturbance in the 100 block of South Iroquois Street, Rankin.

Vehicle damaged at Under Caution sports bar, 2511 Georgetown Road.

Two rear tires damaged at the first block of Lynn Drive, Westville.

Domestic dispute reported at the 17000 block of Attica Road, Rossville.

Sunday, 8:59-9:15 p.m. — A medical call at Danville Care Center, 1701 N. Bowman Ave.

Sunday, 12:26-12:41 p.m. — A medical call in the 1500 block of Valleyview Avenue.

Sunday, 12:49-1:06 p.m. — A medical call in the 800 block of Griggs Street.

Sunday, 3:14-3:26 p.m. — A medical call in the 400 block of Elmwood Avenue.

Sunday, 4:15-4:18 p.m. — An alarm activation at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, 812 N. Logan Ave.

Sunday, 10:55-11:08 p.m. — A medical call along Melody Lane.

Monday, 12:41-12:52 a.m. — A medical call along East Voorhees Street.
