DANVILLE — The state and county have lifted boating restrictions on the Middlefork River in Vermilion County.
The announcement, which came late Thursday morning, is the second time in as many weeks that a section of the river has been closed because of rising levels.
According to officials, conditions have improved, however, the river is still higher than normal.
The river was shut down on earlier this week by officials, who look at conditions ranging from rising waters to water temperatures and future rain possibilities.
More rains, which are forecast at this point for the weekend, could cause the Middlefork to rise again.
