DANVILLE — City detectives are investigating a mid-afternoon holiday shooting on Saturday.
A man was reported shot around 2:20 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of North Gilbert Street.
Police Deputy Director Doug Miller said the man told police he was cooking in his backyard when he was shot in the leg.
Police received no description of the suspect and no immediate arrests were made.
Miller said the man was shot in the leg with a small caliber handgun. The injury was considered non-life threatening.
