The Illinois Department of Public Health will offer a 15-hour Food Service Sanitation Course starting Monday at the Danville Country Club, 2718 Denmark Road. Class times are 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. on two dates, Monday and March 11.
This course is required for food service management in commercial and school food service. The instruction includes information on the causes of food-borne illness, employee health and hygiene, purchasing, receiving and storing food, cleaning and sanitizing.
The IDPH Certification Test will be given at 5 p.m. March 11. Course cost: $100. Students needing the five-hour refresher class may attend on Monday or March 11 to complete the IDPH Education Requirement.
