DANVILLE —
The Danville Area Community College Ag Club will sponsor its 25th Annual Farm Toy Show in the Mary Miller Gym 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 27.
The show will consist of farm toys in a variety of sizes of reproduction. Scale models as small as 1/64th the actual size will be shown. The general public will be given the opportunity to buy, sell, or trade toys with area collectors and dealers. There will be door prize drawings about every half-hour, and at 1:30 p.m. a kiddie tractor pull for kids ages 3 to 10 will be conducted. A concession stand will be available.
Admission is $2 for adults and free for those 11 and under. Proceeds will go to the Ag Club Activity fund and the annual Ag Day fund. Last year, the Ag Club supplied the meal for more than 1,800 people for 50 cents, the price farmers receive for the raw inputs of the meal, at the annual Ag Day.
For information or to plan an exhibit, contact Craig Potter at (217) 443 8805 or (217) 443-8816 or e-mail potter@dacc.edu.

Racing in the Blood
Ron Colson attended his first Indianapolis 500 when he was 7 years old. That was 66 years ago. He’s missed only one of the Memorial Day weekend classics since then, and that was in 1950 when he had the mumps. He grudgingly handed his prized ticket over to his uncle that year. Luckily for the 10-year-old, it was one of the few early years when the race was televised, and the family friends who owned Crane’s TV Shop in Hillsboro, Ind., invited him to come watch it with them.
