STAFF REPORT
Angels are often described as a guiding spirit, someone who is influential to others, has a good heart and always puts others first.
The Commercial-News wants to honor those people who quietly make a difference in other people’s lives.
The 10th annual Commercial-News Christmas Angel project will do just that — honor outstanding generous people. The winners will be profiled in several newspapers leading up to Christmas Day.
Angels personify the Christmas spirit, making a difference in other individuals’ lives.
Perhaps those acts include something as simple as taking an elderly neighbor shopping, or transporting someone to the doctor, doing chores without compensation, or providing support for someone.
These individuals are “unsung heroes” who personify charity and love throughout the year.
If there is someone you wish to nominate for the honor, submit a letter of no more than 300 words explaining why this person should be selected. Please include the nominee’s address and phone number.
All entries must be at the Commercial-News by 5 p.m. Dec. 4. Entries should be submitted to Christmas Angels, c/o Commercial-News, P.O. Box 787, Danville, Ill. 61834.
Questions concerning the project may be directed to Editor Larry Smith at 477-5183 or e-mail lsmith@dancomnews.com.
