DANVILLE — A local man faces three felony charges after being accused of robbing an Indiana bank on Tuesday.
Frank P. Sutton, 23, of Tilton was arrested by Tilton police and Vermilion County sheriff’s investigators just before 1:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of Jefferson Street in Tilton in connection with the robbery of the Hillsboro, Ind., Old National Bank branch.
According to the Indiana State Police in Lafayette, Ind., felony charges of robbery, intimidation and theft have been brought against Sutton in Fountain County, Ind., as a result of the robbery.
Following the arrest, Sutton was booked in the Public Safety Building on a parole violation pending extradition proceedings to return him to Fountain County to face the charges.
The Old National Bank branch was robbed around 1 p.m. EST on Tuesday. The man entered the bank, handed a teller a note demanding money and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the bank. No weapon was displayed during the robbery.
Sutton was released from the Illinois Department of Corrections in late August and on parole after serving a prison term for the robbery of the Old National Bank branch at 2431 N. Vermilion St. in February 2008. He turned himself into Danville police less than a day after the robbery.
