DANVILLE — East Central Illinois Community Action Agency will host a communitywide neighborhood canvassing today.
The purpose of the canvassing is to promote the 2010 Census.
Volunteers will canvass targeted neighborhoods from 9 a.m. to noon.
Community Action volunteers will go door to door to promote the upcoming 2010 Census. Homes will receive a 2010 Census informational brochure that entails important facts and dates about the census.
Volunteers also will inform the public about how census data will help build better communities in the future.
Volunteers will not ask to enter homes, nor will they ask for personal information. They will wear East Central Illinois Community Action shirts along with identification badges.
