DANVILLE — The Danville Public Library Board of Trustees recently reviewed bids for its carpet replacement project.
Three bids were submitted: Tile Specialists (Champaign)--$156,780.00; Commercial Floor Covering (Champaign)--$153,912.00; and Carpet Weaver’s (Champaign)--$138,951.00.
The board awarded the bid to Carpet Weaver’s. Work is anticipated to begin the end of February.
Also, the board recently accepted the quote from Larry Dieu Upholstering of Danville to reupholster and refurbish 20 lounge chairs in the amount of $7,467 with an up-front payment of $2,677, with enough extra fabric ordered for one children’s lounge chair and two adult lounge chairs.
Dieu has completed the job of reupholstering and refurbishing the reader chairs, and the board asked him to give them a quote on performing the same work on the 20 lounge chairs, according to Danville Public Library Director Barbara Nolan.
She said the board and staff have been extremely pleased with the quality of his work.
The fabric provider has a seven-week lead time for delivering the fabric.
