Tilton board approves sewer work

TILTON — Village trustees approved an agreement Thursday with ERH Enterprises of Westville to rebuild a sewage lift station on King Street. The cost for the work is set at $90,740.

The trustees also approved having ERH Enterprises install a new generator for the lift station so that it would be operational even if there is a power outage. The cost for installation of the generator is $31,658.

In other board action, trustees:

Approved a resolution authorizing the 2013 motor fuel tax budget. The board budgeted some $100,000 in various street and bridge repairs as well as costs associated with snow removal. Joe Gleisner of Gleisner Engineering of Danville will serve as engineer for the work.

Learned that the village had received a $1,200 grant from the village’s workman’s compensation insurer, Illinois Public Risk Fund, to purchase two Tasers for the police department.

Accepted a donation of $1,405 from Tilton Energy, LLC to pay for new sidewalks around the new children’s playground.



What’s next

Tilton Village Board members will meet at 6 p.m. April 18 in the municipal building.
