NEWPORT, Ind. — The Vermillion County Election Board has removed Berniece “Missy” Lewis from one of the two offices she filed for in the May 4 Primary.
Lewis was removed as a North Vermillion School Board candidate from Vermilion Township leaving Larry Wickens as the only candidate.
She will remain on the ballot for Vermilion Township trustee in the Democratic primary against Linda Harrison.
A spokesperson in the Vermilion County clerk’s office said that Lewis filed for the school board seat first. When she later applied for township trustee that voided the earlier filing.
