Tickets are now available for the Danville High School Madrigal Dinner. Performances are: 6 p.m. Dec. 3-5 and a dessert-only performance at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at St. James United Methodist Church, 504 N. Vermilion St.
Tickets may be purchased from the Music Department at Danville High School. The cost for the dinner and the show is $15 for Dec. 3-5 and $10 for dessert and the show Dec. 6. The cost is a minimum $20 donation for a patron ticket Dec. 3-6.
Patrons are special friends who choose to give extra financial support to the DHS Choral Booster program. Patron donors must be received before Nov. 21.
Order forms may be accessed online at http://www.danville.k12.il.us. At the site, select “Schools,” then “Danville High School” from the menu column. Complete the form and submit it, along with payment and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Deb Hill at The Hills, 1810 Smith Ave., Danville, IL 61832.

Racing in the Blood
Ron Colson attended his first Indianapolis 500 when he was 7 years old. That was 66 years ago. He’s missed only one of the Memorial Day weekend classics since then, and that was in 1950 when he had the mumps. He grudgingly handed his prized ticket over to his uncle that year. Luckily for the 10-year-old, it was one of the few early years when the race was televised, and the family friends who owned Crane’s TV Shop in Hillsboro, Ind., invited him to come watch it with them.
