Library gives away symphony tickets

DANVILLE — The Danville Public Library is having a drawing for two free tickets to the Danville Symphony Orchestra’s Sunday concert, A Golden Holiday with the Chicago Brass Quintet.

The winning entry will be drawn at 4 p.m. Thursday. Entry forms are available at the checkout desk on the first floor of the library, 319 N. Vermilion St.

The afternoon concert will begin at 3 p.m. at Danville High School.

To purchase tickets, visit the Danville Symphony office at 149 N. Vermilion St., Danville, or call 443-5300. Visa and MasterCard are accepted. For more information about the concert, visit the Danville Symphony Orchestra’s website at http://www.danvillesymphony.org.

  • Georgetown council to sell water to coal mine

    What the village of Homer was unwilling to do, the city of Georgetown has agreed to do. Specifically, city council members approved a contract Monday with Sunrise Coal LLC of Terre Haute to provide, initially, 300,000 gallons of production water a day. After the mine is up and running, the city could boost that supply to 500,000 gallons of water a day.
