VA needs volunteers

DANVILLE — The Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System is looking for volunteers to assist on Sunday with escorting veterans to church services. The two services are: Catholic service at 8:30 a.m. and Protestant service at 9:30 a.m.

Anyone interested in volunteering may call Bob Sprouls in Voluntary Services at 554-4525.

Georgetown council to sell water to coal mine
What the village of Homer was unwilling to do, the city of Georgetown has agreed to do. Specifically, city council members approved a contract Monday with Sunrise Coal LLC of Terre Haute to provide, initially, 300,000 gallons of production water a day. After the mine is up and running, the city could boost that supply to 500,000 gallons of water a day.
