DANVILLE — Shirley A. Wilson, 54, of Danville, transitioned from life into eternity at 12:05 a.m. June 20, 2012, surrounded by her loving and supporting family.

Shirley was born July 12, 1957, in Earle, Ark., to Robert Lee and Ruth Gibson Wilson Sr.

Shirley was employed for more than 30 years at Model Star Cleaners. She enjoyed the Lord, cooking, singing and being a homemaker. Shirley had a special love for children and her family.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, a son, Cornelius Wilson; her siblings, Brenda (Ralph) Morris, Glenda Wilson, Druscilla (Larry) Hayes, Robert Wilson, Tywon (David) Gouard, Tissia (Charles) Henderson, Prentice Wilson, Sylvia Wilson, Rachel (Carlos) Cunningham, Timmie (Martha) Sanford, Lamont Sanford, Dominique Sanford, Helen Sanford and Jessie Sanford; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie Lee and Ruth Sanford; a son, Tyler Wilson; and a grandmother, Mary Cummings.

A celebration of life will commence at noon Tuesday, June 26, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville. A visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. A public viewing will commence from 1-5 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St. Officiating: Elder Lee A. Reed Sr. Interment: Spring Hill Cemetery.
