DANVILLE — Cheryl L. Priest, 64, of Danville, passed away at 1:03 p.m. Oct. 21, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.

Cheryl was born Nov. 21, 1947, in Danville, the daughter of Wilbur M. and Iona (Placencia) Scarlett.

She married Richard C. Priest on Aug. 20, 1973, in Danville. Richard preceded her in death in 1997.

She is survived by her mother, Iona Placencia; two brothers, Gary (Betty) Scarlett of Euless, Texas, and Wayne Scarlett of Indianola; four sisters, Joyce Gardner of Oakwood, Mary Katherine (John) Strader of Lincoln, Sue Swisher of Mahomet and Faith (Bill) Campbell, of Ligonier, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, husband and one brother, Jack W. Scarlett.

Cheryl graduated from Danville High School in 1965. She managed Sunny Oaks trailer park in Bismarck for several years before providing care to local veterans for over 25 years.

She liked to garden, watch TV and go on trips with her mother.

A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Danville National Cemetery, with Gary Scarlett officiating. Burial will be after the service at Danville National Cemetery.

Memorials can be made in Cheryl’s name in lieu of flowers to the charity of the donor’s choice. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville is in charge of arrangements. Condolences can be left at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
