TILTON — Michael Wayne Lomax Sr., 57, of Tilton, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Michael was born Nov. 23, 1954, in Danville to Daniel Paul and Beverly Brannin Lomax.

He married Glenda Dowers on Jan. 2, 1974, in Danville. She survives.

Also surviving are: one son, Michael (Stacey) Lomax Jr. of Danville; one daughter, Beverly (Bill Brewer) Lomax of Catlin; three brothers, Floyd Lomax of Tilton, Loren (Christie) Lomax of Westville and Rick (Julie) Lomax of Danville; one sister, June (Craig Page) Tyler of Hoopeston; four grandchildren, Clayton and Gabriel McWhorter and Brayden and Collin Lomax; stepfather, Alfred Johnson; very close friend, Marvin Burton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Beverly Johnson; two brothers, Jeff and Daniel Lomax Sr.; and an infant sister.

Mike was owner of Triple L Heating and Cooling, which he started in 1979. He enjoyed motor cross with his son and family, NASCAR and going to stock car racing with his friend Marvin Burton in the old motor home. He loved his two Boston terriers, Dingo and Scooby. He truly enjoyed his family and loved spending time with them.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with his brother Rick Lomax and the Rev. Jimmy Hopper officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Danville. A memorial visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home.
