John 'JD' Alan Douglas

URBANA — John “JD” Alan Douglas, 58, passed away on Jan. 15, 2013, at his daughter’s home in Oakwood.

Memorial services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Muncie Baptist Church in Muncie, with the Rev. Dave Garver officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Kirby Funeral Home in Homer is assisting the family.

John was born Nov. 16, 1954, in Champaign, the son of John S. and Anna Jane (Richards) Douglas.

He married Li Juan (Tian) on Dec. 11, 2010, in Urbana. She survives.

Survivors also include his daughter, Heather (Chip) McArty of Oakwood; one brother, Joe Douglas of Fairmount; one sister, Julie (Ron) Humphrey of Homer; one stepsister, Karen Richards of Georgia; three grandchildren, Shelby Wehy, Glendon Chesser IV and Olivia McArty; and several nieces and nephews. His family will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jeff Douglas; and stepsister Renay Richards-Rossi.

JD worked as a foreman at Norfolk Southern Railroad and was previously employed at Associated Pallet. He was the owner of Illini Limo/Freedom Cab.

JD enjoyed fishing, shooting, camping and spending time with his family.

Memorials may be made to the church.
