WELLINGTON — Scott E. Hickman, 50, of Wellington, formerly of Jamesburg, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center.

Scott was born Dec. 18, 1962, in Danville, the son of Wilbur “Tack” and Charlene “Chuckie” (Stout) Hickman.

He married Phyllis Griffith on March 19, 1994, in Danville. She survives.

He also is survived by two daughters, Amber Hickman of Wellington, and Autumn (Charlie) Hahne of Columbus, Ga.; five sons, Marshall (Amy) Peaslee of Wellington, Matt (Ashley) Peaslee of Westville, Mark (Ashley) Peaslee of Danville, Morgan Peaslee of Wellington, and Austin Hickman of Wellington; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Ed (Becki) Hickman of Jamesburg; one sister, Shelly (Rick) Garnica of Potomac; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a granddaughter, Alyssa Morgan Peaslee.

Scott graduated from Potomac High School in 1981. He worked at Bob Meidel Electric Motor Shop in Danville for 25 years. After Bob retired, Scott opened up Hickman Electric in Henning. In 1999, he went to work at Park Electric Motor Shop in Danville, where he was currently working. Scott was a member of the Church of God in Danville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, dancing and making jerky.

A celebration of Scott’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac. Pastor Doug Hummer, of the Rock Church, will be officiating. Burial will follow the service in Potomac Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
