Raymond Eugene Stringfield

DULUTH, Ga. — Raymond Eugene Stringfield went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 17, 2013, surrounded at home by his loving family.

Ray was born in Fithian on Dec. 27, 1944, son of Jack and Fae Stringfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; and sister, Barbara Sempsrott.

He is survived by his sisters, Florence Kirwan, Mary Ruth Butler and Diane Farelas.

He graduated from Oakwood High School in 1963 and served in the U.S. Air Force.

Ray was married for 43 years to Glenda (Swartz) Stringfield, and they were blessed with three sons, Matthew, Luke and Ryan and his wife, Pamela.

Ray worked as a data systems analyst for 47 years while residing in Florida and Georgia.

Always an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, the Fighting Illini and the Atlanta Braves, golfing was forever his favorite pastime.

Ray was dedicated to Perimeter Church, serving as an elder and leader in Celebrate Recovery.

Receiving of friends and family will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home. A celebration of life service is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Perimeter Church in Johns Creek, Ga., with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, Ray requested donations to The Jackson Institute, P.O. Box 500071, Atlanta, GA 31150 and Celebrate Recovery at Perimeter Church, www.perimeter.org. Condolences can be sent to www.crowell
