DANVILLE — Byressa Maye Rozell, 91, of Danville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Brookhaven Medical Center in Muskegon, Mich.

Byressa was born Aug. 8, 1921, to Robert and Martha (Burke) Baker in Oakwood.

She married Donald Rozell on May 4, 1941, in Perrysville, Mo. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1981.

Byressa is survived by her sons, Larry (Rita) Rozell of Ypsilanti, Mich., Mark (Cheryl) Rozell of Avon, Ind., and Michael Rozell of Danville; daughter, Susan (Brian) Link of Muskegon, Mich.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert and Kenneth; and her granddaughter, Kirsten.

A graduate of Danville High, Byressa dedicated her life to her family. A former Cub Scout den mother and Sunday school teacher, she enjoyed catching up with her friends over lunch.

Byressa will be remembered as a woman who loved her children and took great pride in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Byressa’s life will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville, with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating, and burial at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville.
