Ronald Lee Storckman

VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — Ronald Lee Storckman, 69, of Veedersburg, formerly of Kingman, died at 3:47 p.m. EST Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette, Ind.

Ron was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Danville, Ill., the son of Stanley Lee and Della Francis (Pearman) Storckman. They have preceded him in death.

He married Brenda Towell in July 1965.

Surviving family include his wife, Brenda Storckman, Veedersburg, Ind.; a daughter, Angie Storckman-Rodriguez, Veedersburg; a son, Kenny (Missy) Storckman, Veedersburg; a sister, Barbara Pundt, Oakwood; two grandchildren, Cory (Crystal) Mitton and Roger Gant; three great-grandchildren, Trenton Mitton, Alyssa Mitton and Lexi Mitton; a nephew, Chad Pundt; a niece, Danielle Reed; six great-nieces and nephews; and his best little buddy was his dog, Tucker.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hugh Storckman.

Ron was employed for 35 years at Hyster/NAACO as a forklift operator in Danville, retiring in 2000. He served his country in the U.S. Army during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the F&AM Lodge 314 in Kingman, past commander and previous member of the American Legion Post 384 in Kingman and a lifetime member of AMVETS. His hobbies included camping, NASCAR, reading and watching Westerns.

Memorial service will begin at 8 p.m. EST Thursday, Dec. 13, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, with Pastor Kenneth Majors officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 384 from Kingman. Visitation will be 6-7:45 p.m. EST Thursday at the funeral home, with Masonic service beginning at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be at Coal Creek Cemetery, south of Covington, at a later date.
